Given our state of mind during the latter hours of the Smoke & Mirrors 48Hour Film Competition, I think that this production accurately represents the surreal world that Jamie Brown and I found ourselves in as Tom Belton, Matt Conway and Chris Southwell saved us from the brink of insanity on the Sunday afternoon.
We had not slept, I had personally devoured 8 cans of Coca Cola, we had argued, and we had shared the same living space for a good 36 of the full 48 hours. Motivation was at an all time low but due to the support of our creative professional friends, we managed, I think, to represent our mindset during the creation of this film perfectly.
Once we got started on the sound design with Chris, and heard the work of Tom and Matt, sent in from another studio, the ridiculous nature of the film turned our despair to hilarity and we expertly laid back to our Digibeta with seven minutes to spare, leaving five minutes to sprint to Smoke & Mirrors to hand in the final product.
